Nelli Szabó is one of those contemporary artists who knows no boundaries – neither geographic nor artistic. She began her journey as a visual artist and later expanded into industrial design, blending the two worlds seamlessly in her work. Her practice explores the fringes of design and fine art, where materials, narratives, and mediums converge to create new points of connection.

A daring experimenter, she uses art as a tool to uncover new perspectives, whether through design objects, collections, installations, or socially embedded projects. Her worldview has been shaped byresidencies in Japan, Yemen, Abu Dhabi, and Cyprus, where cultural overlaps and the intersection of tangible and digital realities have become central themes in her work.

Through her educational practice, she also encourages the breaking down of boundaries in thinking, design, and creation.

Arthere Istanbul, positioned at the geographical crossroads of Europe and Asia, offers a truly symbolic new chapter in Nelli’s research, where she delves into the possibilities of Istanbul’s architecture and form culture within the realm of modern design.
