Let's speack Romeyka!

Romeyka Exhibition  Arthere would like to invite you to the exhibition, Let's Speak Romeyka, a collaborative project on an endangered Greek variety spoken in contemporary Trabzon, in northeast Turkey. The exhibition is open to the public between 12.00-18.00 everyday on September 8-15, 2019.  Organised by Dr I. Sitaridou of the University of Cambridge and Dr E. Saglam of Stockholm University, the exhibition strives to enhance the public awareness around Romeyka in particular as well as inviting the visitors to re-think about endangered heritages and preservation strategies.   The launch cocktail will be held on September 10, 2019 at 18.30 with the participation of Professor Peter Mackridge of the University of Oxford. The event will feature a small talk by Dr Sitaridou on the linguistic characteristics of the language.  The event is supported by the University of Cambridge, Impact Fund for Arts and Humanities.
