The Basic Idea
Stone + Signal is an interactive sound installation that turns architecture into music. Using modular synthesizers and vinyl records, the piece transforms the physical presence of Istanbul's buildings into immersive, quadraphonic sound.
What's on the Records
Each record contains field recordings made from Istanbul's architecture-but transformed into binary signal patterns. These rhythms and pulses are designed to interact efficiently with an envelope follower, triggering and shaping the modular synthesizer's response in real time.
