I rush to the ferry terminal in Karaköy to catch the boat. The streets are busy and noisy. Nevertheless, at my next step, I notice a crackling sound and feel something break beneath my weight. I am startled - did I just crush a snail? This sensation immediately brings back childhood memories: running through the rain-soaked lawn and streets, accidentally stepping on a snail due to childish recklessness and poor coordination, the sound of the snail shell shattering. But here, amidst the crowd, I glance under my shoe and see that I have merely stepped on a piece of cat food, or maybe a chocolate biscuit?
