Cory Massaro has a keen interest in stories, languages, and the transmission of knowledge. He has explored oral poetics to understand how myth and aesthetics interact to contextualize and pass down a culture's worldview and understanding.

With experience in software engineering and language technology, he has observed how automation smooths out the unique, enjoyable aspects of language. He criticizes this commodification of language and storytelling, opposing the unchecked, thoughtless intrusion of technology into the most personal aspects of human life.

His quest to find the human element in our knowledge has led him to anticapitalism, tech skepticism, and pro-worker activism. He aims to eliminate technological intermediaries from communities; decommodify language, culture, and stories; and highlight non-hegemonic knowledge and perspectives.
