My time at @ArthereIstanbul has become an unconventional focus as I continue the project I began in 2023 for the SNCA (National System for Creative Artists), awarded to me through the Mexican government’s program for the arts.

Scenes of ferryboats from my window, calls to prayer, the scent of food from the street, and the many cats have all become stimuli for my experience here.

Istanbul is much like Mexico City: an unfolding chaos that somehow functions. These vast urban environments attract me, continually adding new icons and symbols to my work.
